Terms of Service
Last updated 9 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Axento Books ("the service"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you use the service for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
1. The service
Axento Books is bookkeeping software. It helps you record transactions, prepare VAT returns and produce financial statements. It is a tool, not professional advice: you and your accountant remain responsible for the accuracy of your records and for anything you submit to HM Revenue & Customs or Companies House.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- If someone else, such as your accountant or bookkeeper, uses your account with your permission, you are responsible for what they do in it.
- You must give accurate information and must not use the service for anything unlawful.
3. Your data
Your financial records belong to you. We process them only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your records at any time (for example as an audit pack) and delete a business from Settings.
4. AI features
Some features use artificial intelligence to read documents, suggest categories or summarise results. Suggestions can be wrong. Nothing an AI suggests is posted to your ledger until you approve it.
5. Availability
We aim to keep the service available and your data backed up, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or improve features over time and will give reasonable notice of significant changes.
6. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for penalties or tax arising from information you or your advisers submit. Our total liability in any year is limited to the fees you paid us in that year.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, after giving notice where reasonable.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
